About the position

This position will play a critical role in building the life brokerage organization for agencies in recruiting, training and on-boarding independent life producers. The successful candidate will leverage their industry knowledge and established relationships in the marketplace to help achieve sales results.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute on the firm’s strategic plan to build our life brokerage business unit.
  • Build new and existing relationships with Financial Advisors, Life Insurance Agents, etc. to increase revenue from life insurance sales.
  • Actively consult Financial Advisors to provide them with value-added strategies to increase life insurance business with their clients.
  • Educate Financial Advisors on life insurance product portfolio and present company products in the context of sales ideas.
  • Build, maintain and leverage relationships with Internal Sales Desk, Underwriting, Advanced Markets, Marketing and Agency leadership.
  • Keep Financial Advisors informed of any life product portfolio enhancements, underwriting changes, new product launches, etc.
  • Actively develop new relationships with Financial Advisors to significantly capture life sales as well as servicing existing life agents.
  • Provide competitive intelligence to leadership team on current/emerging trends with life insurance product carriers, changes, etc.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

  • 5+ years sales experience wholesaling in life insurance industry.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of life insurance products and their application in sales concepts.
  • Current network of existing life insurance agents, PPGAs, and financial advisors a must.
  • Proven ability to grow a life brokerage business within our geographic area.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% (primarily local).
  • State life and health licensed (FINRA Series 6 or Series 7, preferred).
  • Professional designation (i.e., CFP, CLU, ChFC) a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Thorough knowledge of and proven ability to demonstrate sales and marketing principles and practices at the point of sale.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both in creation and delivery, to current and prospective agents.
  • Expected to maintain a thorough knowledge of existing, new and enhanced products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
